Pity Lies of Death: Script

Pity Lies of Death
A meeting of the minds is taking place. Some who attend are more intelligent than others, while a select few are clearly out of place. High ranking members of Thiumus (a kingdom) are discussing problems that occur during the evening hours. Sir and Madam Count the rulers of the kingdom are hosting this meeting. They are all seated around a circular table.
Conrad
Behold this round table, with no head there is no superiority. We all come as equals.
Ruebus
Har Har.
Conrad
Indeed, it is a delight. Neither man nor woman shall hold the mightier hand.
lousille
The dog cannot snatch a mouse from a blind cat.
Norbert
Dearest lady, both man and woman shall reign together.
Conrad
This table shall be placed into the dining area of the castle as a symbol of equality.
Norbert
One must only dine, and not drink at this table. One who drinks is one who thirsts for power.
Lousille
An owl on a crisp night, hunts only to daybreak, never hunting into the peak of morning.
Sir Count
My wife and I shall only dine on this fine table. I take my vow.
Madam Count
I second that.
Ruebus
Thou has spoken; a table of roundness shall not be corrupted with alcohol. Declare this moment in paperwork.
Squier
A story of today I shall tell,      my hope is it all goes well.             May I document this feast with care,         and hope greats arms will bear.
Conrad
Of this day we shall all remember, for it is the day that we all see eye to eye. With no more concerns at mind, I declare you fellows goodbye.
Norbert
With that I bid you all fair health.
Sir count
Meeting adjourned, I wish a safe route home to you all.

Everyone who was attending the meeting leave pleased of what they all discussed. Sir and Madam Count retire to their chamber for the night.
Madam Count
With that all straightened up, tonight the moon shall rest peacefully upon the night’s sky. No clouds shall dare invade, let the moon shine bright. Let us toast to a day of success.
Sir Count
The moon shall indeed light up the shadows. Terror shall not triumph on our kingdom! My good lady haven’t we just vowed to only dine?
Madam count
Laughs a weak laugh
Great lord, my mighty husband, my lover of life; do you not wish to enjoy life with me anymore? I wish to share a drink with my love of eternity; do your feelings differ?
Sir count
My good woman, I do not question my love for you, let us toast and share this moment together, for purity of this moment shall not represent evil.
Madam Count
Evil! Do you speak of evil and our love together?

Sir count
Two words, such as those would never leave my lips.
Madam Count
To question me as evil is to say witches cast spells within the woods.
Sir count
Lady of beauty, I dare not question you. I bid you my apology.
Madam Count is pouring the alcohol into glasses.

Madam count
What is it that we shall toast?
Sir count
My Lady, I toast to you. May eternity go on, as I question my luck to have you, with you by my side all the gold in the land shall not compare.
The glasses click together and in one sip the glasses are left empty.
Sir count
With that my fair lady I bid you goodnight. Thiumus shall sleep tight.
Early at the peak of day Norbert enters the castle accompanied by Lousille.
Norbert
Is Sir Count present, I wish to speak to him.
Guard
A wish you have made, yet I do not grant such a deed.
Lousille
To deny Norbert is to deny the hungry food.
Guard
Absurd! The Counts have not yet risen from sleep. Do not question me. To question me is to question the Counts themselves.
NOrbert
I shall wait, I am in no hurry. Grant myself and this fair lady waiting rights.
Guard
The spot in which you are standing is the only spot I will offer.
norbert
Then it shall be we shall stand tall here.
By mid-afternoon the Counts awaken and witness a mob outside their castle.
People from the mob are shouting to the Counts who appear from the window.
Person 1
The fragile hummingbird sang of death as it killed my cow.
Person 2
An acorn from a newly planted tree fell and went right through my mate’s head.
Person 3
Lightning struck all the houses of the village. A raging fire runs wild.
 the Mob
Chant:
Let the prisoner go fee! The real villain is you!
Sir count
Fear neither me nor my lady. Fear the prisoners they kill.
 the Mob
Fear the villains! Lock them up!
Mob enters the house and chases Sir Count and Madam Count into a corner.
madam Count
My soul is darkened, have mercy for the innocent.
Points toward Sir Count

He did it. He makes me dark.
Steps toward the mob

Look at me, save me.
Opens her eyes wide to be looked into

Look into my eyes, see how dark they are.
Points the her baggy eyes

Look at the skin under my eyes. It is dark.
Points to Sir Count

He did it! He forces me not to sleep. He forces evil upon me!
 The mob
Man who harms women shall be no more!
Sir count
Confused: Is speaking to the mob.

I have not done anything. Condemn those who are the betrayer. Condemn those who choose the take a dagger to the innocent heart. She lies, she betrayed all of us. I declare her dead to me.
Looks toward Lady Count who falls to the ground life-less
Norbert
He wishes life only for himself, poor Woman.
Lousille
A poison suffocates, words destroy. He is a murdered by mouth.
Norbert
He killed off his wife with piercing words!
 the mob
Condemn him, rally the kingdom, and put him to death!
Members of the mob violently get hold of Sir Count and carry him away to be hung. Norbert and Lousille kneel next to the dead Madam Count.
